What do you like to do?
I love to move. I was born with a blessing and a curse that does not allow me to sit still. I currently keep moving by being the father of a two-year-old and a long distance triathlete. I am competing in the 70.3 World Championships in Taupo New Zealand this November, and I CANNOT WAIT.
What are you most excited about right now?
My public speaking journey. I’ve now performed at open mics, written and produced my own shows, made YouTube videos, etc.. I love all of it. I love performing and feeling nervous and refining my words.
If money were no object, what would you do with your life?
Run around the world, literally. Like circumnavigate the whole thing. Run through rain forests and deserts and spice markets and churches and parks. I would see it all by foot.
What’s something you’re really into right now?
Tiki Cocktails. I was a Beverage Director in a previous life and I still dabble from time to time.
How do you feel your life has worked out so far?
In a way that I never would have predicted and exactly as it should.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I said to my parents, “I want to do something that makes people happy.” That was the extent of my planning when I was growing up, but it’s not far off from what I do now.
What’s the last picture you took on your phone?
A picture of two tiki cocktails, fittingly. Death & Co did a collaboration with Lost Lake here in Chicago and I went with my wife, Amelia. It was awesome.
What habit or improvement are you working on?
I will be working on consistently meditating until I die.
What’s your favorite word?
What cause are you passionate about?
The well being and mental health of hospitality professionals.
Whom in the world would you most like to share a meal with?
I would love to sit down with Barack and Michelle Obama, Jay-Z + Beyonce, Stacy Abrams, Lebron James, and Chalamagne the God and talk about race in America.
